AIM Schools and Oakland Unified School District (OUSD) Test Results on Math by Race for 2011-2012
Graph I shows academic achievement by subgroup 6th-8th grade mathematics/ Algebra I test results for students of American Indian Public Charter SchooL (AIPCS) and Oakland Unified School District. These students tested proficient/advanced on the California Standards test: twenty percent (20%) of American Indian, 2% of black, 2% of Hispanic, and 18% of Asian students of OUSD attend AIPCS.
Graph II shows academic achievement by subgroup for 11th grade summative math (Algebra I, Algebra II, Geometry, Trigonometry and Pre-Calculus) results for students of American Indian Public high School (AIPHS) and Oakland Unified School District. These students tested Proficient/Advanced on the California Standards Test (CST). Student achievement declined in math by 11th grade in OUSD in each race. AIPHS American Indian, Hispanic, and Black students outperformed OUSD Asian students significantly.
